    Wie moved in a new location.

    Some important changes to our business:

    1. Model yachts
    - we will produce most of the 3x1 yachts in Spain, only some extraordinary boats im Hamburg
    - design, sail production and prototyping is still in Hamburg
    - production of the M155 Canting keel yacht remains in Hamburg
    - no further model yacht production at the moment

    2. Big boats

    - we founded the "Yacht Performance Center Hamburg" together with 3 other companies

      The move is finished. 90% is ready for work again.



      After one mouth move with 12-18 hours work par day all parts are unpacked. Today we will box a lot of things which will become shipped on Monday. From Tuesday 19.7. to Friday, 22.7. the office will be closed.
      Now you can see the concept of the open office with the two big doors. Nice working in summer. But there´s still a lot to do: new floor cover, glass bulkhead to the printers area, refit of showroom and storefront. Top

          Model yacht production in Germany is too expensive.



          Bad and good news. After consulting a doctor and the government I have to drew the conclusion, that a production in Germany is too expensive. I have to raise a high credit, I don´t want to do this, I´m 50 years old now.

          The good news: I´ve found a solution for the 3x1, we will offer new boats in September and we will still support the racing.
          At the moment we have only the boats on stock and will produce no new ones. I don´t know, If we will offer a J-Class, C-Class, M155 or VOLVO OCEAN 65 in the future.

          We will be able to individualize the boats in the future also:
          - Sail production,
          - digital printing,
          - painting and
          - repairs/service
          will be located in the new Yacht Performance Center:

            Hardness test. Farr 280 debut at Nordseewoche.



            With a wave height of 3-4m and gusts over 30 knots the Nordseewoche was - especially as race debut - a big challenge for our FARR280 "4sale" and the team. The conditions were tough: This Nordseewoche only 50 of approximately 150 reported ships made it to Helgoland, most have remained in the river ports or retired in the mouths of the rivers.

            Already at the start of the first race from Hamburg to Cuxhaven the FARR280 showed their potential and took over the lead after a few miles. After Haselsdorf the wind shifted to the nose and increased continuously, so that the yachts longer than 40 feet overtook gradually. The last few miles before Cuxhaven were rude, our team was still struggling with the trim.

            "This was the first time FARR280 sailing with strong wind and waves, we have tried a lot and increased our speed at the tack within 2 hours by almost a knot. A big help was the experience of Dan Scheerer, he was helmsman of the larger sister, the FARR400 "Sonnenkönig". " Hans Genthe has no first places expected. "Our learning curve with the FARR280 is steep - I was surprised about the heeling of the boat if you want to become fast at the tack."

            Immediately after arriving in Cuxhaven, the team optimized the reefing system to start in the Sundowner at 20:00 in the evening. The weather forecast promised a grueling race with gusts over 30 knots and 3-4m wave height in the Elbe estuary. After this very bumpy tour the "4sale" crossed shortly after 2am in the morning to the finish line, a few minutes after the 40 foot "Intermezzo".

            On Saturday the exhausted sailors slept and took this day for further optimization and for training before Helgoland in a long swell up to 4 meters wave height. "The gennaker we did not use, we lack a heavy wind gennaker." Dan Scheerer brings fresh wind and new experiences to the team "We gained under 2-reefed main and jib over 23 knots. The large Genni we would have ripped." In this training session, the 5 sailors could increase the upwind speed to 0.5 knots again.

            The felt the opponents on Sunday at the Capitell Round Helgoland Regatta. "The whole race we had a duel with the X40 "Roxy". On Friday the X40 was much faster upwinds." Genthe is satisfied: "For a 28 foot long boat the FARR280 has an amazing upwind speed."

            To return race from Helgoland to Cuxhaven the Farr could play your downwind potential: After an hour all competitors was no longer recognizable, with constant over 14 knots, peaking to 25 knots flew the ship over the long waves of the North Sea, too fast. In the mouth of the Elbe with still ongoing countercurrent there was a bad wave. "Suddenly a wave wall was in front of us - we made a 23 knots frontal crash - and then ripped the tack of the gennaker." After the cleaning up and a "creative break" the crew rolled the cloth at the ripped tack put a knot on it, fitted with a Dyneema rope. By setting the remaining gennaker the Line Honors and first place calculated could still be saved. "The luff was completely demolished - a sign of quality that our Elvstrøm gennaker has survived the further sailing." Now the gennaker in the newly furnished sailmaker and Elvstrøm Service Point will be repaired in Osterbrooksweg. "

            "I am very happy. Although we still could not collect Regatta experience, we were 2 times forth place, a few minutes faster, and we have won awards. With a heavy wind gennaker we would have been better prepared, and especially on the Capitell Cup round Helgoland we would have had chances to win. " Hans Genthe draws a positive conclusion, "The boat is fast and strong, we have no damage, nothing failed except the gennaker. Even the Micronet system from Raymarine works well – despite the extreme wetness below deck. But the greatest success is: Our trim concept works with only a jib and a main, we have covered a wind range of 0-35 knots, and with winning potential. This was the result of good cooperation with the Elvstrøm designers. Only a small gennaker should complete the sail wardrobe yet. "

            The Farr280 "4sale" is constantly for sale. The FARR280 demonstration boat of dealer Hans Genthe can be purchased at fair value, once sold, the 4sale team will replace the yacht with a new FARR280. The advantage for the buyer: The boat is in perfect race conditions and tested in every detail - 100% race ready.
            "4sale" is sponsored by the yacht paint manufacturer Alexseal, the Elvstrøm sail makers, and electronics manufacturers Raymarine. For all three sponsors the yacht will be used as a test platform for new products.

                    100 FUSS MEGAMAXI PRODUCTION STARTS - 1:1 - MADE IN GERMANY



                    Our Mega Maxi project has caused an international sensation. The innovative hull design and the extreme speed predictions convinced an Asian investor.

                    The is extremely demanding. "I only want the best of the best. My yacht is foilen just like the model boat." The man, who declined to be named task is clear. "In the latest 2 years I want to win the Sydney Hobert Race." So not only the best materials are installed at 100 feet in length, but the most qualified professionals who are on the market, working on the project.

                    Bucking the trend, the first yacht will not be built in China, but in Hamburg - Schenefeld. In Osterbooksweg 31 a hall will be converted into a huge tempering oven.

                    "By producing in Hamburg we have the whole process under control, and have access to our established network." Hans Genthe is delighted with the job "The temperature in our hall can go up to 150 degrees. In order to process the prepreg." About special vacuum isolation panels, otherwise rather used in aerospace, the hall can be divided and thermally optimized.

                    The molds are milled to time in a special operation in Rostock. The foils can be optimized in a project together with the University of Kiel. The sails are derived from the megayacht line of Elfström-Sails. The Yacht will become painted with ALEXSEAL varnish - also in Schenefeld. As a consultant, the super yacht designer Frank Neubelt and FARR Yacht Design stand aside.

" Genthe has invested in the past few months a lot of time planning. "And our sailmaker Albrecht von Bremen has presented a very convincing concept for Elvstøm sail - I have rarely seen such enthusiastic future owner."

                    Construction is in October 2015. Until then, a lot of time is invested in hydrodynamic optimization and structural calculations.
